Appointment Policy At Dublin Animal Hospital, we see you and your animal by appointment only. Please call ahead before you come in so that we may schedule an appointment for you. If your pet's situation is urgent or does not need an appointment, we may suggest a "drop-off" where you may leave your pet with us and then pick them up as soon as they are ready to go. Some quick routine procedures may warrant an "in-back" non-appointment procedure in which you can wait for your animal. Regardless of what category your pet may fall into, please call us ahead of time so we may be well-prepared to serve you and your animal. Kindly give 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your appointment, so another client and their animal may utilize that time. To avoid time spent waiting, medication refills must be called in 24 hours in advance to ensure time for DVM approval and filling of the medication. Pre-Surgical Policy: Unless otherwise directed, part of our standard pre-surgical policy for your cat or dog is no food or water after 8:00 p.m. the night before the procedure. When bringing in your animal for a surgery or dentistry, we will have you fill out a consent form giving you the following options for your pet: To save time, you may print and fill out the Surgery Consent Form or Dental Consent Form now to bring it in with you. Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork: In order to make the best medical decisions, especially before administering anesthesia, we highly recommend pre-anesthetic bloodwork for all animals before a surgical procedure. IV Fluids: We also recommend IV Fluids for your animal during a surgery or dentistry, because it improves the tolerance of the anesthetic agents and the procedures preformed. This is especially important for older animals. Click the link to learn more about IV Fluids. Avid Chipping: Finding a lost or stolen pet can be extremely difficult and frustrating for both you and your family. Because of this, Dublin Animal hospital, the Humane Society, and other veterinarians across the country recommend that you have you pet chipped as a permanent form of identification. We would be happy to micro-chip your pet for you. Click the link to learn more about Avid Chipping.
