Dr. Katherine T. Phillips was born and raised in Iowa She attended the University of Northern Iowa for an undergraduate degree, majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. She graduated from Iowa State University in 2002 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. A strong interest in exotic animal medicine and a lifelong love of the mountains brought her to Dublin Animal Hospital immediately after graduation.
Dr. Phillips resides with her husband, their daughter, and many furry and winged family members. These include two golden retrievers (Dharma and Samson), two cats (Abby and Zoey), two Cockatiels (Uno and Daffodil), Hawkeye the Eclectus parrot, and a betta fish.
She is a member of the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Association, the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Phillips has also served as a volunteer at the Pueblo Zoo in order to gain further knowledge in exotic animal medicine.
Her areas of interest include small animal and exotic animal medicine, as well as small animal and exotic animal surgery. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, snowboarding, or reading next to a fire.
