Dr. Ashley Finan
Dr. Ashley Finan is originally from Arlington, Virginia where she grew up with her grandparents and a wide variety of pets, including a dog, turtle, rabbit, gecko, and her favorite- a guinea pig. She has always been an animal lover and developed an interest in veterinary medicine at a young age- she was determined even then that she would become a veterinarian.
While living in Virginia, Dr. Finan worked at several veterinary offices and volunteered at the National Zoo in Washington, DC and the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD. Having the opportunity to work with many different animals helped further convince Dr. Finan that a career in veterinary medicine was the perfect choice for her.
Dr. Finan moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2005 when she started college at Coastal Carolina University as a biology major. She later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Marine Science. Not yet ready to leave the beach life, Dr. Finan spent her first three years of veterinary school at St. George’s University in the West Indies. While in veterinary school, Dr. Finan took special courses working with marine animals and birds. She also had the chance to volunteer with uShaka Marine World in South Africa, The Georgia Sea Turtle Center, and the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Finan spent her last year of veterinary school at the University of Georgia, where she developed interests in dermatology, exotics, and emergency medicine.
After school, she spent some time working at a progressive small animal hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC before finally moving to Colorado Springs. She is very excited be a part of Dublin animal hospital and loves meeting new people and pets. While not at work, Dr. Finan enjoys spending time outdoors with her Pomeranian mix, Bella, scuba diving, traveling to new and exciting places, and photography.
